Hiding
Bible Verse of the Day
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
Genesis 3:8-10
Hiding from God…
What makes us think we can do it?
What makes us even try?
Maybe it’s just me that tries… But somehow, I think we all have or do.
As far as the first question I have no real answer to what makes us think we can hide from God. He is always with us.
So why do we try?
Sometimes it is shame for what we have said, thought, or did. At times it is our attempt not to have to face the truth of the situation. Sometimes it’s all we feel like we can do. And at all times the enemy is whispering in our ear, “you need to hide”, “God is mad”, “here you are again”, “you can’t trust God’s heart towards you” whatever the line is that works on you.
So, what do we do?
We turn our hearts and face towards the Father, believing what Jesus has said, what God has shown us, and the prompting of the Holy Spirit in our heart.
Yes, there will be consequences, but God will treat us with love and respect just as he did Adam and Eve, and all that followed.
After all what is really our other choice?
