Bible Verse of the Day 3/31/25 "Why Love?"
Bible Verse of the Day
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:36-39
As I read this passage in Matthew, I am reminded how Jesus continues this thought in John 13:34-35 when He tells us prior to His return to the Father…
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
To quote Tina Turner “What’s love got to do with it?” The answer is everything.
I am involved in a few ministries that are called to serve in different capacities (men’s ministry, food and clothing insecurities, and counseling) and although they seem very different the one common game changer is love. No matter the passion God lays on our heart in how to serve Him with out love being first and foremost it will struggle at best and most likely will not be successful.
When you serve others in love and they feel that love deep in their heart, it makes them curious on where this love comes from. This curiosity will lead to conversations that will allow things like sharing of testimony, listening to their struggles and praying together. This will lead to a hunger they will develop to have the Father’s love more fully in their life and they in one way or another will begin to pursue God or allow His pursuit of them to have a foothold in their lives.
Dear friend today let’s focus on loving the Lord our God with all our hearts (our own gamechanger) and showing God’s love to others (helping be their game changer)
In the Father’s love
